- Constant Fighting
- Avoidance
- Monogamy
- Ethical non-monogamy
- Issues with living together

...then you've come to the right place.
All relationships struggle. We all have unhealthy patterns we’ve been taught that we unknowingly bring to our partners. The people in relationships that last are the ones that commit to facing these difficulties together, from a place of love and empathy. If you’re ready to stop the constant fighting, or if you’re ready to finally express the feelings that you’ve been hiding from your partner and yourself, then it may be time to get some help from a relationship coach.

Testimonials from Couples
“I never thought we’d need couples counseling but Alex was recommended to me by a friend when my girlfriend and I started having issues that we couldn’t resolve after moving in together. We quickly realized that there were much deeper struggles we were both facing, and Alex helped us finally confront them. As he says, it’s tough work, but I’m so glad we did it, because we’ve come out the other side much stronger and more in love. Alex guided us through this process gracefully – I’m so happy we found him.“

“Alex is a wonderful coach, both grounded and practical, as well as deeply empathetic and spiritual. I have worked with many therapists, coaches and healers in the past and can safely say that working with Alex has brought some of the deepest healing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve worked with him both individually and with my partner for couple counseling and I highly recommend him in both contexts. Thank you Alex!”

COUPLES COUNSELING IN LOS ANGELES
Why Couples Coaching?
Couples coaching helps individuals in relationship do the difficult work of confronting their deepest conflicts. My goal is to help each client understand their specific needs, attachment styles, and love languages, and learn how to communicate these to their partner.
Compromise Doesn’t Work
The idea of compromise implies that conflict can be resolved if both partners lose. I help couples realize they are on the same team, and to find strategies for both partners to win together. There is conflict in every relationship, but it usually points to a deeper, more emotional misunderstanding. By addressing the root causes of the conflict, couples can learn to deepen their love while healing these wounds. I help relationships do this work and learn strategies to approach future conflict from a place of respect, trust, and openness.
No two coaching sessions look the same because every session is catered to the clients’ unique needs. What is the same are underlying principles and tools that I have synthesized from the frameworks described below.
Trust Building
The single most important part of any relationship is trust. Without trust, there is no sturdy base to build a relationship. Trust provides each partner with the feeling of safety that we all deeply long for. When both partners feel safe in the relationship, then the relationship can support the needs of each individual, such as freedom, harmony, companionship, passion, and growth. Thus, it all begins with trust. In my coaching sessions, clients build trust through exploration, opening up about the hard stuff, and listening empathically while their partner does the same.
Tantra & Balance
Tantra is an ancient tradition with many profound teachings about love. Foundational to Tantra is the concept of polarization – that partners in a relationship must find balance with each other. I help couples understand themselves and each other within the context of their relationship, and through this find answers to questions such as:
- Why are we always in the same fights?
- Is it time to move in together?
- Why does my partner want to spend time away from me?
- Why is it so hard for me to trust my partner?
- Should we be in an open relationship?
- Why do I always put my partner’s needs first?
Non-Violent Communication
Non-Violent Communication is a needs-based communication style developed by Marshall Rosenberg. The philosophy, reaching far beyond communication, provides a framework for understanding how our behaviors connect to our emotions, and how our emotions connect to our deepest human needs. As a couples coach in Los Angeles, I hold space for clients to safely explore sensitive and painful topics in the presence of their partner. By expressing their needs, rather than blaming their partners, clients learn to truly advocate for themselves and take ownership of their feelings and their words, leading to relationship based on mutual support rather than neediness.

How to Build a Healthy Relationship
We live in a contradictory culture that encourages individuation while simultaneously promoting a fairy-tale version of romance that teaches us that our partner should provide us with everything we’ll ever need. As anyone who has been in a relationship longer than a year knows, the honeymoon phase always comes to an end. Once this infatuation period begins to fade away, love stops being a guarantee and begins being a practice.
If that’s scary, I have some good news for you: the practice of love is the most fulfilling and gratifying part of life we have. And some more good news: more honeymoon phases are possible. 😉
But it is a practice. That means it takes work. Difficult, beautiful, emotional, passionate, frustrating, sexy, exhausting work. That’s what it takes to maintain a relationship long-term. Over time it will become less demanding and less painful, but it will take time. With proper commitment, I believe any relationship can not only last, but flourish.
My work as a couples coach is to help you and your partner build or rebuild this practice so that your lives are easier and more full of love. And over time you’ll see that nothing is more rewarding than the endless returns on deep, mature, long-lasting love.
